Start your day the best way or give yourself an extra boost of energy when you need it most. Grab your blender and let’s make the best strawberry banana smoothie!
Ingredients
To make this healthy smoothie (that tastes just like a strawberry banana milkshake!), here are the ingredients that you'll need:
- Strawberries. I like to use the already sliced and frozen strawberries. You can use fresh strawberries, but be sure to wash, slice, and freeze them.
- Bananas. Bananas are packed full of potassium and dietary fiber. They also add a natural sweetness and make this smoothie extra creamy.
- Spinach. Sneak in some leafy greens without affecting the taste! Spinach is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, iron, and calcium. The best part? This green smoothie doesn't even taste green!
- Milk. Use your favorite milk! I love using organic, but almond milk, oat milk, and even coconut milk will all make great choices.
- Strawberry extract. This is optional but highly recommended! Adding a small splash of strawberry extract will make that strawberry taste POP!
Step-by-step instructions
This is one of the best summer smoothies because it's just so refreshing in the sizzling summer heat.
Ready to whip up a delicious -and healthy- smoothie? Here's all you'll need to do:
Combine all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender (such as this one). Pop the lid on your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
If you want your smoothie to be a thinner consistency, add in a splash of milk and blend it up again.
Pour into a glass or two (if you want to share), and enjoy!
Serving size
This recipe makes roughly 2 small 8-ounce servings or 1 large 16-ounce serving.
Tips & tricks
Use overripe bananas. Remember, the riper the banana, the sweeter it will be, making it an excellent natural sweetener for your smoothie.
Add some protein. Blend in a scoop of your favorite vanilla or strawberry protein powder for a protein-packed strawberry banana smoothie.
Make it dairy-free. Use your favorite almond milk, oat milk, or even coconut milk to make a dairy-free strawberry banana smoothie.
