Ingredients
This quick and easy dip only needs 6 ingredients. Here's what you'll need:
- Fresh spinach
- Sour cream
- Mayonnaise
- Knorr vegetable soup mix
- Water chestnuts
- Green onions
Step-by-step instructions
This recipe couldn't be any easier! After cooking and cooling the fresh spinach, squeeze it dry. Use your hands and wring it out or put the spinach in a colander and press it with a wooden spoon.
In a medium sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, Knorr vegetable mix, chopped water chestnuts, and sliced green onions. Stir in the well-drained spinach and mix well.
Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least two hours.
Dipping ideas
You can serve this quick and easy appetizer with just about anything. Ritz crackers, pita chips, tortilla chips, chunks of bread, and even crudités!
Serving ideas
Grab a round bread loaf (sourdough is the best!) and cut a 1 to 1 ½-inch slice off the top of the loaf. Hollow out the inside of the bread, leaving ¾ to 1-inch thick shell. After the dip has chilled, fill the bread bowl shell with the dip and serve immediately!
Make it ahead of time
Yes, of course! In fact, this dip tastes even better when it has had time to sit. Make the recipe as directed in the recipe card below and store it in an airtight container. You can make spinach dip up to two days ahead of time.
Tips & tricks
Use frozen spinach. Swap out fresh spinach for a 10-ounce package of frozen spinach. Be sure to thaw it, and squeeze it dry.
Don't skip the water chestnuts. The water chestnuts in this dip lighten it up and add incredible texture.
Serving size. This recipe makes about 4 cups of dip.
